(A Modern) Alice in Wonderland

I've always been in love with Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland. I love the story, the characters, the ideas, and the clothes. Just the thought of finding an alternative universe is amazing! When I was little I would create my own little world. I just recently watched Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, I figured why not. It was alright, the storyline was okay, but the costumes, scenery and special effects were AMAZING! I really love Alice's clothes, I would definitely wear some of the stuff. If only I could mix Alice's look into my modern, everyday clothes... oh wait, I can! *Que a big, cheesy smile*

If you've ever thought of a modern Alice, you probably thought of a modernized blue dress. While you still can wear that, Alice's look can be made of a variety of colors, Alice's dress in the original story was yellow! Alice's look is mainly a whimsical, girly, almost romantic look. But remember, she's also a child. So it should be innocent and easy to play in! (I still 'play' in dresses. I was twirling in my driveway today in my sundress!)

Just so you know (and so I don't get sued,) I don't own any of these pictures. You can find these clothes at stores such as Forever21,Miss Selfridge and the like. I didn't put any of their pictures up, but I do recommend a store called Cotton On. They have a lot of thin, light summer dresses and light sweaters that would fall into Alice's category.

So in short; Alice's style consists of a lot of florals, ruffles, light material, and comfortable fashions. She grew up in Victorian times, so it's a little 'duh' that she would wear skirts and the like. But if you don't like wearing skirts, you could always pair up light wash denim shorts with a floral, ruffled top and some wedges.
